Rick Perry's campaign strategy: become Ron Paul

From Infowars.com:

"Texas Governor Rick Perry has shown his hand immediately. His presidential campaign strategy consists of attempting to steal away Ron Paul supporters while the mainstream media aids him by refusing to even acknowledge Paul exists."

"The media is pretending like Ron Paul doesn't exist!"

Daily Show: Ron Paul and the top tier

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart did a great piece on the media blackout on Ron Paul. Clip description: "Even when the media does remember Ron Paul, it's only to reassure themselves that there's no need to remember Ron Paul." You can watch the video at the Daily Show web site.

Politico: Ron Paul supporters decry media neglect

"Ron Paul finished just 152 votes behind Michele Bachmann in the Ames straw poll, but from the headlines and TV news coverage, it’s hard to tell he even showed up.

With the exception of The New York Times and The Des Moines Register, most major newspaper headlines didn’t even mention his name in their reports of Saturday’s contest. Nor was he anywhere to be found on the Sunday morning talk shows. By Monday’s second-day stories, Paul had disappeared from the prevailing narrative of the Republican primary race altogether, as consensus coalesced around the dynamics between Bachmann, newcomer Rick Perry and frontrunner Mitt Romney."

Opinion: Ron Paul or bust!

Four years ago I watched the Republican presidential debates because a class assignment required me to. Throughout high school and college I considered myself a liberal Democrat, and the idea of subjecting myself to Republican debates seemed like cruel and unusual punishment. But then I discovered Ron Paul.

Simply put: Ron Paul is the only real politician running for president. As it concerns my vote for president of the United States, it is Ron Paul or nobody.

In the 2008 presidential race Paul was consistently marginalized and derided. Commentators at Fox News sponsored debates questioned why he was even running as a Republican since his views were so far out of whack with the establishment line.

Then the "financial crisis" hit, and in the last few years Ron Paul has been a regular face on cable news channels, since his warnings about the dangers of monetary policy and the fractional reserve banking system have become impossible to ignore.

In the first Republican debate of this primary season Ron Paul was asked if Michele Bachmann had eclipsed him as spokesperson for the Tea Party in the congress. Paul answered, "Well she isn't here tonight, so I don't think so." Sure enough, Bachmann has since been present at the Republican debates.

Four years ago Ron Paul was considered on the fringe for talking about the Federal Reserve. Last night's debate showed just how far along the American public has come in heeding Paul's warnings, and how far the political establishment has gone to hijack his message. Newt Gingrich, the disgusting establishment shill, was parroting Paul's call to audit the Fed. Santorum, the weasley piece of filth, even said "I agree with Gingrich that we should audit the Federal Reserve, but Ron Paul is a nutcase!"

The establishment has been forced to adopt Ron Paul's rhetoric in order to further marginalize him from the national political discourse. He is the only legitimate candidate among both the Republicans and Democrats, and he is the best chance America has for turning the tide of tyranny. Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate offering a sure path to peace and prosperity.

Ron Paul or bust. Liberty or death.

Rasmussen Poll: Obama 41%, Ron Paul 37%

Congressman Ron Paul may be a long shot to win the Republican presidential nomination, but he runs competitively with President Obama right now.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Paul picking up 37% of the vote, while the president earns 41%. The Texas congressman joins Mitt Romney, Michelle Bachmann, and Rick Perry as candidates within hailing distance of the president at this time.

Ron Paul wins Republican Leadership Conference straw poll

Politico: As has become typical at GOP cattle calls, Ron Paul captured the presidential straw poll at the Republican Leadership Conference here, easily besting his nearest competitor, Jon Huntsman.

LA Times: Coming after Paul's widely hailed performance at last Monday's first major GOP debate in New Hampshire (scroll down for that story), Paul's latest win (he also won the straw poll at last winter's CPAC conference) will likely energize his already-energized supporters as signs that their man is gaining grass-roots strength among likely Republican primary voters.Ron Paul looks happy after his recent successes.

Washington Post: Paul, who typically does well in straw polls thanks to an active, mobile and outspoken base of support, took 612 votes, finishing well ahead of the second-place finisher, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman, who won 382 votes.

UPDATE: the CNN.com article on the conference doesn't mention Ron Paul UNTIL THE 2OTH PARAGRAPH!

"Texas Rep. Ron Paul, a hero to libertarians, won the 2012 straw poll in dominating fashion." - That's the first mention of Paul in the article, buried in paragraph 20.
