Politico: As has become typical at GOP cattle calls, Ron Paul captured the presidential straw poll at the Republican Leadership Conference here, easily besting his nearest competitor, Jon Huntsman.
LA Times: Coming after Paul's widely hailed performance at last Monday's first major GOP debate in New Hampshire (scroll down for that story), Paul's latest win (he also won the straw poll at last winter's CPAC conference) will likely energize his already-energized supporters as signs that their man is gaining grass-roots strength among likely Republican primary voters.Ron Paul looks happy after his recent successes.
Washington Post: Paul, who typically does well in straw polls thanks to an active, mobile and outspoken base of support, took 612 votes, finishing well ahead of the second-place finisher, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman, who won 382 votes.
UPDATE: the CNN.com article on the conference doesn't mention Ron Paul UNTIL THE 2OTH PARAGRAPH!
"Texas Rep. Ron Paul, a hero to libertarians, won the 2012 straw poll in dominating fashion." - That's the first mention of Paul in the article, buried in paragraph 20.
Keep going for the gold!
