Opinion: Ron Paul or bust!

Four years ago I watched the Republican presidential debates because a class assignment required me to. Throughout high school and college I considered myself a liberal Democrat, and the idea of subjecting myself to Republican debates seemed like cruel and unusual punishment. But then I discovered Ron Paul.

Simply put: Ron Paul is the only real politician running for president. As it concerns my vote for president of the United States, it is Ron Paul or nobody.

In the 2008 presidential race Paul was consistently marginalized and derided. Commentators at Fox News sponsored debates questioned why he was even running as a Republican since his views were so far out of whack with the establishment line.

Then the "financial crisis" hit, and in the last few years Ron Paul has been a regular face on cable news channels, since his warnings about the dangers of monetary policy and the fractional reserve banking system have become impossible to ignore.

In the first Republican debate of this primary season Ron Paul was asked if Michele Bachmann had eclipsed him as spokesperson for the Tea Party in the congress. Paul answered, "Well she isn't here tonight, so I don't think so." Sure enough, Bachmann has since been present at the Republican debates.

Four years ago Ron Paul was considered on the fringe for talking about the Federal Reserve. Last night's debate showed just how far along the American public has come in heeding Paul's warnings, and how far the political establishment has gone to hijack his message. Newt Gingrich, the disgusting establishment shill, was parroting Paul's call to audit the Fed. Santorum, the weasley piece of filth, even said "I agree with Gingrich that we should audit the Federal Reserve, but Ron Paul is a nutcase!"

The establishment has been forced to adopt Ron Paul's rhetoric in order to further marginalize him from the national political discourse. He is the only legitimate candidate among both the Republicans and Democrats, and he is the best chance America has for turning the tide of tyranny. Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate offering a sure path to peace and prosperity.

Ron Paul or bust. Liberty or death.
